Slovak-American Foundation Presents Fall 2011 Program ParticipantsThe Slovak-American Foundation introduces the inaugural round program participants and calls for applications with the deadline of April 15, 2012.Bratislava, Slovakia – February 7, 2012 – The Slovak-American Foundation (SAF) inaugurated one year ago concluded two a very successful application rounds with a high number of applications. The SAF program generated a great interest both in the Professional Internship Program and the Research Scholar Program in Slovakia.The Professional Internship Program is open for university students and recent graduates with a focus on entrepreneurship, providing a scholarship of up to $30,000 USD to spend up to 12 months in the U.S.The Research Scholar is open for professors and academic researchers with a focus on entrepreneurship, providing a scholarship up to $60,000 USD to spend up to 12 months in the U.S.Altogether ten deserving graduate students of UNIBA, EUBA and STUBA in business and eningeering with a strong entrepreneurial focus were selected the past year, and SAF is looking forward to more excellent candidates, primarily from district universities.In the Research Scholar Program one successful applicant, Marek Nemčovič, PhD, assistant professor of the Department of Glycobiology of the Institute of Chemistry of the Slovak Academy of Sciences was selected.The first group of award recipients have already departed to the United States. Please find enclosed an informational booklet on the inaugural round of program participants.The programs of the Slovak-American Foundation are managed by CIEE: Council on International Educational Exchange.Application deadline: April 15, 2012, decision notifications by June 15, 2012.
