Welcome to Slovakia – what You need to “survive”

Before coming

In order to come to Slovakia You may need the following:

• a valid passport
• Identification cards – are sufficient for citizens of the EU
• In case You need a VISA to Slovakia (please inform at Your embassy whether You need a visa to Slovakia or not – if You have problems with getting a visa, do not hesitate and write us – we can help You with providing the necessary documents)

Insurance

All trainees in Slovakia must have adequate insurance coverage for accidents, illness, disability, death and liability. You must prove to your employer that you have such coverage before the commencement of your traineeship. The insurance company and number of insurance receipt must also be included in the N-5/b papers.

We also recommend You take with You:

• Your N/5a
• 3 or 4 photos – ID card format – (you might need them for public transport, accomodation ID card, at work etc.)
• ISIC card – You can have some discounts for Your International Student ID Card
• bathing suit
• sports shoes, warmer clothes (maybe a water proof jacket?) for hiking – in the mountains there`s cold during the summer as well
• a mobile phone without sim lock working in 900/1800 MHz (Europe standard) You will receive a Slovakian sim card at arrival
• A big package of good mood and good sense of humor (in case You don`t bring it – we can provide You with both)
• Maybe Your national drink ;) (once again, don`t worry we have great supplies in Slovakia of delicious beverages in case You run out of stock)

Arrival

Please let us know how, when and where do You arrive. Our Summer receptionists will pick You up from the place of Your arrival, feel free to contact us if there are any questions regarding the pick up.

In case nobody is coming for You, do not hesitate to call or text message one of our summer receptionists. (You will find phone contact on them on the bottom of this document).
